Pictures of Snow around Fleet.

Not like New South Wales which I hear is predicted to be the hottest place on Earth in the next few days. Yikes.

The first guy is in Andrew and Julie's back garden , inspired by the snow that had already made what looked like arms on the chairs - adding heads and legs and beer seemed the right thing to do.

The half snowman form the ground I made in a local park and had kids climbing on him the next day.

The rabbit was the effort of the office staff at Orb Data - nice work.

Commuting by boat

I keep meaning to get around to taking some photos of the houseboat I stay on during the week.

As I haven't as yet, then here is a picture taken as I step off the commuter boat which whisks me along the Thames and under Tower Bridge in the mornings.

(it's taken with my phone, through a dirty window, but gives a decent flavour of the day)

Poor judgement

SYDNEY (Reuters) - An Australian man convicted of his seventh drink-driving charge was spending about A$1,000 (£487 of our UK pounds) a week on beer -- enough to buy more than 2,500 small bottles a month, a newspaper said on Tuesday.

The heartbroken construction worker began drowning his sorrows after breaking up with his partner five years ago, the Northern Territory News said, quoting his defence lawyer as telling a court in Australia's remote, tropical north.

The magistrate declined to jail the father of four, Michael Leary, noting he had quit drinking since his latest arrest, but he banned Leary from buying or even holding a beer for 12 months.

The magistrate also poked fun at Leary's favourite beer, Melbourne Bitter, in a part of the country where drinkers can be as loyal to beer brands as they are to football teams.

''(That is) poor judgement on two counts there -- drinking that much and drinking Melbourne Bitter,'' magistrate Vince Luppino was quoted as saying.

Classic Music Festival Weather

Surrounded by Aussies waiting to see Powderfinger, some more excited than others (Helen - this means you !) couldn't help but notice the looming clouds - yep about to piss it down.

Still created an entertaining game of throwing empty plastic cider bottles at the umbrellas blocking your view of the stage. I like how every hit got a cheer from the crowd, and a big cheer when the umbrellas was lowered.

Powderfinger didn't announce themselves as Aussies, but as Queenslanders - (to another big cheer)

Ben Harper was fairly impressive, not least for having the fattest funkiest bass player I've ever seen live.

Adventures in Life

This is a link to an experiment to see how well I can publish a coffee-table book (Vol 1).

This website allows you to download software to compose your book, and then upload the result to have it printed. You can choose from soft or hardbacks and they have set layouts in different styles. This actually makes the process pretty simple and having the layouts to choose from is better than starting completely blank. Many people have got some very professional looking books for sale on the site, and then there is mine too.

You can get a preview of the book I put together here, but DON'T buy it.

1. I intend to do a better book at some stage, which can be twice the length for the same price.

I2. I intend to see what works well / doesn't before this is really available.

So why am I telling you now ? Because I really want the book to turn up so I can see what it's like.

Those sharper viewers may note that I'm checking this out in advance of my wedding and thinking about what I'll do with the photos from that.
